Star of your next family cookout? I think yes. Let’s do it!
WARNING: Argument may occur over the last piece.
What You’ll Need
2 lb. Chicken Wings
1 medium onion, roughly chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled (or 2 tbsp. minced garlic)
1 tsp. Poultry Seasoning Pinch of Salt ( for boiling water)
2 tbsp. Lawrys’s Seasoned Salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. Onion Powder
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
1 tbsp. Brown Sugar
Instructions
- Start with a large pot. add chicken wings, chopped onion, garlic, poultry seasoning, and a pinch of salt. Cover completely with water.
- At medium-high heat, allow water to come to a slow boil. This should take about 10 minutes.
- Once water is boiling, turn heat to low and add a lid. Cook for 5 additional minutes. Turn heat off.
- While chicken is boiling, combine Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and brown sugar in a separate bowl.
- Drain water out of pot. On a paper towel-lined baking sheet, place chicken wings in a single layer and dry them as much as possible. The dryer the chicken, the crispier it will become when put on the grill. Place dried chicken wings in a large bowl, dish, or pan.
- Sprinkle seasoning mixture over wings liberally. Make sure to thoroughly cover each wing. Set aside.
- Make sure grill grates are cleaned and have been oiled or sprayed with non stick spray! This will prevent any of the delicious skin from getting stuck.
- Turn grill on and allow it to properly heat (the time will vary depending on whether you’re using a gas or charcoal grill). Once hot, place wings on grill and cook 5-6 minutes on each side. Use long, grill safe tongs to allow yourself full control over the chicken without staying too close to the flames.
- Once the skin is crispy & dark golden brown, remove from grill.
- Enjoy plain or with your favorite sauce!
